On the playlist of... Alexandre Vauthier
Adored by all the stars, from Rihanna to Charlize Theron, from Ciara to Cara Delevingne, the designer tells Numéro about the music that inspires him.
“Music is essential for me and my tastes are very eclectic - I like Étienne Daho as much as Philip Glass. And I grew up with electro, the real thing. I liked Kraftwerk, music that was as industrial as possible. Today I think that contemporary electro is certainly less of an influence, but I like listening to Nicolas Jaar, particularly his duo with Florence and the Machine, What Kind of Man: the coldness of the music combined with the bewitching voice of Florence Welch. But, no contest, it’s hip-hop that currently injects energy into our lives, and I have black music on every day, first thing in the morning. So for this playlist I’ve chosen almost only black rappers.”
