“Hypnotique”, masculine fragrances seen by Guido Mocafico
Art direction : Laurence Hovart
From a subtly metallized midnight blue bottle rises a perfume as black as ebony, dark and sumptuous. It starts with thyme and tarred accents, suddenly invaded with a black pepper overdose that awakens the senses and confronts itself with the dry bitterness of cedar, humid oak moss and warm musks. Blackpepper, eau de parfum, COMME DES GARÇONS.
The jeweller keeps on paying tribute to the most noble scents in perfumery with his exclusive collection, and now is looking into patchouli. This new opus associates this dark, deep, mysterious and often earthy ingredient to Bulgarian rose and iris, and reveals a “leathery” contrasted trail. Moonlight Patchouli, Collection Extraordinaire, eau de parfum, VAN CLEEF & ARPELS.
Inside the polished glass bottle of this lacquered black opus, a clearly powdery and warm vanilla fragrance. Iris, acid clementine, aromatic sage, vanilla pod and tonka bean blend together to recreate the enveloping sensation of dark and sweet leather with addictive accents. Valentino Uomo Intense, eau de parfum, VALENTINO.
Just like fashion, this new perfume combines classicism and false moves. If the fragrance belongs to the “fern” group, a recurring theme in male perfumery, it is here joined with amber and iris, the fashion house's fetish accents, infused in most of their olfactive designs. “L'Homme Prada, eau de toilette”, PRADA.
