From Rihanna to Marina Abramovic, discover Annie Leibovitz’s latest portraits.

  • The first formal photo of Bruce Jenner as Caitlyn, Rihanna in Havana, Natalia Vodianova on a Parisian monument, the Kardashian West family at home, Barack Obama in the Oval Office and Marina Abramovic like a modern-day Eve encircled with snakes…

     

    These images, each one more iconic than the last could only be the work of one photographer: Annie Leibovitz. The artists started her career at Rolling Stone magazine before following the band of the same name on tour and then joining Condé Nast. With her images, conceived like pictorial epics, Annie Leibovitz has always offered complete immersion in the lives of her subjects. In doing so she’s established herself a one-of-a-kind photographer.

     

    After two books celebrating the first 35 years of her career (Annie Leibovitz: Photographs1970–1990 (Harper Collins, 1991) and A Photographer’s Life: 1990-2005) the mighty artist unveils a third book composed of images taken in 2015 and 2016. In it we discover actors, sportsmen and women, politicians, pop stars, rock stars and a host of other people from all horizons in touching portraits bursting with energy.
