And right up to his death in 2003, the designer never stopped praising flamboyant fashions and lifestyles. He was succeeded by Vanessa Seward from 2003 to 2011 and then Maxime Simoëns since 2017, who with his first couture runway show has resuscitated the soul of the house. Worn by Brigitte Bardot, Jane Birkin, Liza Minnelli and more recently Nicole Kidman, the creations, often long, fluid dresses with plunging necklines, are encrusted with shimmering rhinestones.

The house has chosen to pay tribute to this legacy and is celebrating 50 years of creation with a fantastic retrospective book. Shots of Loris Azzaro, photos of fashion and images from the archives invite us to plunge into his uber-glamorous universe.
