The Chanel Métiers d’art runway show: Karl Lagerfeld’s stunning tribute to Paris
To present his latest Métiers d’art collection for Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld brilliantly transformed the legendary Cinecittà Studios in Rome into a typically Parisian décor.
Yesterday the Cinecittà Studios in Rome, the heart of Italian cinema, welcomed the Métiers d’art Fall-Winter 2016-2017 pre-collection by the house of Chanel. As a prelude to the collection, guests were invited to discover Once and Forever, Karl Lagerfeld’s new film starring Kristen Stewart and Geraldine Chaplin, both embodying Coco Chanel. Then it was onto Teatro N°5 - Federico Fellini’s favourite studio - for the 12th Métiers d’art runway show in a black and white décor inspired by a Paris of yesteryear. Models, including the divine Bella Hadid, filed out in a reconstructed Paris wearing silhouettes that combined Parisian chic with the pure glamour of Italian movies.
