Christopher Kane new Spring/Summer 2017 collection
The Scottish designer Christopher Kane presented his Spring/Summer 2017 collection on the 19th september at Tate gallery in London.
Always faithful to the experimental approach he acquired at Central Saint Martins, the designer Christopher Kane keeps on making an impact on the fashion world. Used to drawing his inspiration from everyday objects to turn them into desirable luxury items, he decided this season to approach the infamous Crocs, until then more popular on Martin Parr's photographs than on the runway. Repainted and overlaid with stones, they accessorize a collection called Make Do And Mend from a 1940's pamphlet regrouping advices to make woman's clothes long as much as possible during war. In that spirit, the stylist presents thirty-eight new looks inspired by the past but never nostalgic, mixing textures and playing with layering and transparency.
