Mimosa, lime and broom flowers
Zoom on three delicious essences by Astier de Villatte, Prada and Dolce & Gabbana.
The lingering notes of this marvellous warming scent are inspired by Balthus’ workshop and its 100-year old lime flower that fills the air in the month of May. Created by Françoise Caron, a great perfumer to whom we owe among other marvels, the “Eau d’Orange Verte d’Hermès”, this eau de Cologne develops with addictive honeyed sighs of lime and mimosa flowers, woody notes and bergamot.
Eau de Cologne, “Grand Chalet”, ASTIER de VILLATTE. 85 euros for 50 ml.
Master perfumer Daniela Andrier has concocted an enveloping perfume, both cottony and velvety, highlighting the mimosa alongside star anise, essence of mandarin and notes of musky rose. An ultra-addictive and highly textured eau de parfum.
Eau de Parfum, “Mimosa”, The Prada Infusions, PRADA. 113 euros for 100 ml.
Available exclusively at Galeries Lafayette, then from May 30th onwards in the usual retail outlets.
The latest creation to join the “Velvet” collection pays tribute to the yellow flowers of the broom plant and its honeyed spicy notes. Here it mingles with lime flower, bees wax and benjoin along with hues of resin and musk.
Eau de Parfum, “Velvet Ginestra”, DOLCE & GABBANA. 200 euros for 50 ml. From June.
