The dream-like creations of artist Wonmin Park
The Korean artist, Wonmin Park’s ethereal works at the Korea Now! exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs de Paris… before discovering new pieces this November in New York at the Carpenters Workshop Gallery.
The Korean artist Wonmin Park continues his experiments with resin through works – chairs, tables, shelves – that boast a spectral transparency as if they’ve escaped from a dream or are floating in the air. The texture of this resin contributes to the hazy, almost elusive nature of his creations, which seem to blend into the very air surrounding them. Revolved around the notions of abstraction, materiality and the ambiguity of material, the exhibition questions the relationship between sculpture and its environment. A gently minimalist and poetic reverie…
