The Chanel "Mademoiselle Privé" party at the Saatchi Gallery in London
Julianne Moore, Cara and Poppy Delevingne, Rita Ora, Jamie Bochert and Vanessa Paradis were all there with Karl Lagerfeld, the supreme artistic director of Chanel, for the opening of the exhibition “Mademoiselle Privé” this Tuesday.
Between the haute couture creations specially designed by Karl Lagerfeld and the Chanel ateliers, and the exceptional original photos of actresses, models and friends of the House all dressed in haute couture gowns and fine jewellery, re-edited from the first ever collection of fine jewellery “Bijoux de diamants” dating from 1932, “Mademoiselle Privé” plunges the viewer into a magical world of elegance, daring and beauty.
After visiting the various floors and exhibition rooms, the muses and friends of the House were invited to attend a private show by the talented Francis Wolf (aka Jamie Bochert) that fizzed with the electric ambiance of a PJ Harvey concert and the glory days of the New York underground.
Paying tribute to the codes and symbols of the House, the “Mademoiselle Privé” exhibition is nothing short of total immersion into the world of Coco Chanel, perpetuated by Karl Lagerfeld since 1983.
Complemented by a room devoted to the legendary Chanel N°5 perfume, a contemporary English garden, a space dedicated to Gabrielle Chanel’s emblematic addresses (the place Vendôme, 31 rue Cambon and her boutique in Deauville) and another to the countries that have inspired her (Russia, Scotland, England…) “Mademoiselle Privé” promises an exceptional and unique journey.
“Mademoiselle Privé” at the Saatchi Gallery, from October, 13th until November 1st 2015
