With a tour name such as Chromatica Ball, we couldn’t be disappointed. For her new world tour, which started on July 18th in Düsseldorf, Germany, Lady Gaga certainly didn’t disappoint in terms of eccentricity and cutting-edge fashion choices. For her spectacular entrance to her smash hit Bad Romance, she was wearing a futuristic and conceptualist outfit by Gareth Pugh from the spring/summer 2007 collection. To complete her wild look, she sported a pair of platform boots by Pleaser. Throughout her performance, the singer and actress churned out hit after hit, like Just Dance or Poker Face, and memorable looks as a nod to the fashion madness of her early days. The sober rock star of A Star Is Born (2018) is definitely gone ... The Chromatica Ball Tour looks designed by stylists Nicola Formichetti, Tom Eerebout, and Sandra Amador flirt with excess, gothic style, rock details, disco gold, and sci-fi references, with a distinctive taste for Latex and leather fabrics. To give life on stage to her 2020 album Chromatica about trauma healing, Lady Gaga has turned herself both into a badass biker and an alien keen on power dressing. Among the emblematic silhouettes are Alexander McQueen’s custom gold moiré suit, Vex Latex’s nude bodysuit, and Topo Studio’s architectural red dress.
