David Koma's structured looks in London
The young georgian designer unveiled his new Spring/Summer 2017 collection in London.
Well-known as Thierry Mugler's artistic director, where he succeeded Nicolas Formichetti in 2014, David Koma's eponym brand knew an immediate success as soon as it launched by keeping the creative urge of his student work at Central Saint Martins. Through his Spring/Summer 2017 designs, he pays tribute to Russia and more specifically to St Petersbourg, where he stayed to study before moving to London. Starting from the structured and rigid outfits worn by the Russian court, he progressively evolves towards ultra-contemporary and more loose-woven and sensual looks by playing with transparency and volume.
