Giambattista Valli spring-summer 2016 show
This season Giambattista Valli looked to Woodstock and the hippie generation in a bucolic spirit of folk.
Giambattista Valli draws inspiration from Woodstock and the hippie generation this season. The couturier still has the essentials of a wardrobe influenced by the sixties and seventies (trapeze miniskirts, nipped in waists, oval shapes etc), but he develops them in floral prints, punctures them with ruffles and combines them with less structured pieces such as the chiffon blouse or baroque motif knitwear. More “gypsy” than ever, this Spring-Summer 2016 collection dazzles with the presence of Hanne Gaby Odiele in a long straight dress adorned with naïve flowers. The last looks distil these influences with the help of petticoats and flounces, all in a bucolic spirit of folk.
