FKA Twigs goes off the beaten track with her medium-lengh film “Soundtrack 7”
The british musician FKA Twigs unveils “Soundtrack 7”, a gorgeous 35 minutes medium-lengh film mixing contemporary dance, music and cinema
After the resounding success of her first album LP1 in 2014, and a tripping electro five-tracks EP called M3LL155X, the singer-composer FKA Twigs keeps on experimenting outside the box. Beyond music, she engaged herself in a dance workshop in Baltimore last Summer and an Halloween-themed exhibition in London... Many different parallel projects that connect music to dance and contemporary art.
Shot in Old Granada Studios during Manchester International Festival en 2015, Soundtrack 7 is her first medium-lengh film as a director. A visual and emotionnal 35-minutes trip that she defines as a an abstract autobiography, including seven of her tracks (Closer, Good To Love, Ultraviolet, Numbers, Mothercreep, What I Wanna, How's That) and a poem from the British 15th century writer Sir Thomas Wyatt.
