Cinema

Five years after the tremendous success of the feature film Call Me By Your Name, Franco-American actor Timothée Chalamet and Italian director Luca Guadagnino have reunited on set for Bones & All, a romance based on cannibalism coming out on November 23rd, 2022.

Forget about the summer love story in Call Me By Your Name (2017). Oscar-winning Franco-American actor Timothée Chalamet, who will star in Dune 2 in 2023, and Italian director Luca Guadagnino are back together this year for a dramatic odyssey based on a cannibalistic romance. The upcoming dark and horrific film titled Bones & All, which will premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September and be in theaters on November 23rd, 2022, is based on the 2015 eponymous coming-of-age novel written by American novelist Camille DeAngelis. Alongside Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russell, the cast includes Michael Stuhlbarg, Mark Rylance, Andre Holland, Chloë Sevigny, Jessica Harper, and Jake Horowitz.

“There is something about the disenfranchised, about people living on the margins of society that I am drawn toward and touched by. I want to see where the possibilities lie for them, enmeshed within the impossibility they face”, the Italian director explains in an interview with Variety. Regarding the synopsis, Luca Guadagnino pictures the coming-of-age story of two special teenagers. Timothée Chalamet plays a cannibalistic drifter named Lee, on a road trip across America with Maren (Taylor Russell). The 16-year-old girl travels the country in the hope of finding her father. While she is a cannibal too, Maren tries not to act out to understand why she killed many of her friends.
