Say your goodbyes to our long gone traditional square and rectangular handbags. For this Fall/Winter 2024-2025 season, Moschino’s new Artistic Director Adrian Appiolaza breaks away from the monotony of luxury accessories to venture into the eccentric universe of the Italian fashion house. With a visionary idea in his head and a welcome touch of irony, he designed heart and baguette-shaped bags, worn under the arm or on the wrist, for his runway show at the Milan Fashion Week.

Both extravagant and surprising, this astonishing baguette first appeared under the arm of one model, and then, in the cardboard bag of another one. Far from the iconic Baguette by Fendi, this bag literally takes on the shape and color of a crusty loaf of bread, and turns each look into a quintessential embodiment of the Parisian stereotype. We can already picture it as the next favorite accessory of our dear Emily in Paris.

While Moschino featured the heart pattern on every piece of its Spring/Summer 2023 collection, from necklines to earrings, brooches and bags, the motif has been simplified this season into elegant, red or black patent minaudières. This new version is reminiscent of the one sported by actress Fran Drescher in an episode of the 1990s series The Nanny...

While this vintage bag has been selling at premium prices online for a few years now, the fashion house is now offering a brand-new, updated version of it, in line with the many other heart handbags relaunched by luxury brands in the past seasons. It includes Saint Laurent, Gucci with its exposed aorta and arteries design, and Alaïa, which made it the flagship accessory of its Spring-Summer 2023 collection. Available in a wide range of colors, including black, silver, red leather, leopard or vinyl, Alaïa’s handbag was spotted on Leïla Bekhti and Tina Kunakey, among others - a true fashion favorite.
