Jonathan Anderson is designing the costumes for Challengers (2024), starring Zendaya
A few years after collaborating with Raf Simons on the costume design of the films I Am Love (2009) and A Bigger Splash (2015), Italian director Luca Guadagnino has teamed up with Irish designer Jonathan Anderson to create the looks of his eagerly-awaited new project, Challengers (2024).
Actress Zendaya, currently promoting the film Dune, Part II (2024), will make a fashionable appearance on screen - surely inspired by the Y2k aesthetics - imagined by Spanish fashion house Loewe’s current artistic director.
Just a few days after presenting a JW Anderson show infused with a retro energy at the London Fashion Week, Jonathan Anderson is definitely establishing himself as one of the most beloved designers of his generation.

Challengers: director Luca Guadagnino’s exciting upcoming project
Almost two years after the release of his film Bones and All (2022), which staged the journey of two teenage cannibals played by the excellent Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russell, Italian director Luca Guadagnino is ready to release his new feature, Challengers, on April 24th, 2024.
The breathtaking synopsis of this project can be summed up in a few words: a love triangle set against the backdrop of a tennis competition starring actress Zendaya. After playing Rue Bennet, a character with a tumultuous life in the series Euphoria (2019), that new role is set to be just as scandalous for the Hollywood darling...
At least, that’s what we can expect when we know that Challengers (2024) will be forbidden to anyone under 17 due to explicit sexual scenes and the use of crude language. Zendaya will share the screen with actors Mike Faist (West Side Story) and Josh O’Connor (soon to be seen in the biopic about Lee Miller) .
